New signing Anthony Knockaert has been bouyed by his double assist on his Amex debut against Huddersfield Town at the weekend, and he’s called on Brighton to keep those performance levels going for the remainder of the campaign to give us the best chance possible of battling for promotion come the end of the year.

Speaking to the Official Site following his man of the match showing, he explained.

‘It`s been a good start for me; I couldn`t have asked for better than that, so I`m very happy to be back in the Championship with a very good team. Huddersfield are a good team too and they played some good football, but every game is different and the most important thing is to take three points from every game. We scored two goals from the counter-attack, but if we score twice from a counter-attack and win in every game, then I`ll be happy. But it`s just one game and I need to keep going and work hard to do everything to help the team.’

Having decided to return to England and have another stab at the Championship and promotion following his time with Leicester City that saw him fall out of favour, his start to life at the club he feels has vindicated that decision.

‘We showed that can we play some really good football and the team spirit is great, so I`m very happy and I hope that we achieve what we want. I had a very good welcome into the team. Everyone has been very good to me. I was not scared to come back and I feel very comfortable in this team and confident that I can do my best on the pitch. I want to be promoted here. That`s what we want and we will do everything we can to be in the Premier League next year.’
