Yesterday evening Brighton hosted the annual Players’ Awards Dinner night at the Amex Stadium and French winger Anthony Knockaert took the Player of the Season award for the promotion winning year of 2016/17.
Having gained 36% of the vote from the fans, Knockaert beat goalkeeper David Stockdale to the prize and it of course follows his pick as the Championship Player of the Year winner.
Stockdale finished in second place on 22% whilst centre half Lewis Dunk came in third with 19%.
With midfielder Steve Sidwell taking the Goal of the Season award for his long ranger against Bristol City with 52% of the vote, Solly March took the Young Player of the Year award which was decided on by first team coaching staff.
Son of the late Don Lock, Andrew Lock, took the James Brynin Fan of the Season gong and Danny Hemsley, who lost his leg in an accident, took the Sarah Watts Inspiration Award.
