Winger Anthony Knockaert has reflected on his two goals against Queens Park Rangers last night.

Taking a four nil victory on the night at the Amex Stadium, Knockaert got us under way in first half stoppage time as he broke the deadlock and then completed the scoring six minutes from time.

Speaking to the Official Site in his own post game press conference, Knockaert admitted he couldn’t take credit for working on the opening freekick – it just worked out for him on the day.

‘Sometimes I practice, but not much to be honest. It was just in a good position for me to take it and I was just thinking about hitting the target. So when it went in, I was very happy. They [QPR] are a good team, with good organisation, we just needed to get that first goal. We needed to score because it was not easy for us in the first half. It was an important moment to get the goal, just before half time. At this stage of the season, we need to have the belief and remain positive, that`s what we did.’

With Jiri Skalak opening his account for Brighton in the game following his arrival, he went on to say.

‘It was an unbelievable goal, it was his first goal for the club and I am sure he will remember that one for a long time. I was so happy for him because he deserves it and he is a great lad.’

With Middlesbrough drawing with Burnley, seeing us level up on points with Sean Dyche side and move to within two of Aitor Karanka’s team, Knockaert said results elsewhere didn’t matter, as we could only focus on ourselves in the run in.

‘As I said on Friday, we just need to be focused on ourselves and not on the other teams, so nothing changes for us we just need to keep on winning.’
