Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert has said he believes the side will take the positives and bounce back from what ended as a disappointing draw against Burnley at the weekend.

Having taken the lead twice through Dale Stephens and Knockaert himself at the Amex Stadium Burnley hit back twice including a late stoppage time leveller and Knockaert admitted after the game that the common feeling in the dressing room had been frustration and disappointment at not taking all three points.

Speaking to the Official Site in his own post game press conference, the Frenchman explained that whilst it was disappointing, knowing that it should’ve been a win and all three points should be seen as confidence boosting for the side.

‘We conceded a goal in the last minute which is always disappointing, but we need to be ready for the next game now. It`s disappointing because I think we did well and deserved to win. All the lads are disappointed because we had a very good game and everyone put in a great effort. We should have won, but that`s football and we need to carry on playing like this to achieve our aim.’

As for his second goal and his wish that it would’ve been the winner on the day, he was obviously pleased with the finish and also spoke of his confidence that Brighton would bag one of those top two automatic spots before the end of the campaign.

‘It`s always good to score and it could`ve been the winning goal. There were a lot of players in front of me, so I just shot on my right foot and when I saw it go in, it was a great feeling for me. It was a massive game for us and the most important thing was not to lose the game. We showed today that we have a very good team and very good talent in the squad. We have to carry on and go forward to achieve our goal.’

On to Birmingham now and hopefully that win and three points.
