Goalkeeper Tim Krul has today completed a permanent switch from Newcastle United to Brighton.

The Dutchman came in from Newcastle on a loan deal back in the transfer window, but a short time ago Brighton confirmed that agreement had been struck with his former club that sees him leave them, and join us on a permanent 12 month contract.

He leaves Newcastle after 12 years following his arrival from ADO Den Haag in the summer of 2005 and he obviously knows manager Chris Hughton well from their time together at St James’ Park.

He has represented the Netherlands seven times.

Not that it’ll matter until January, but this frees up a loan space now and it does mean he can play against his former club.
