It’s fair to say that Brighton haven’t seen the best of Jesse Lingard yet, at least we’ll be hoping that we haven’t seen the best of him.

Lingard is having an impact in games, creating openings for himself and others in a way but his finishing has so far let him down. Perhaps he’s trying too hard? He’s told the Argus that he does feel he’s getting better with each game though.

The Manchester United loanee also says that his best is yet to come for Albion.

‘I think I’m picking up every game. I thought I did well the other day against Ipswich.

‘I just want to be a threat, try to create chances, get shots off, try and score goals and be effective in the game.’

When you score four goals on your debut, as he did for Birmingham earlier in the season, that’s bound to get your loan off to a flyer.

The forward mentioned that with it of course getting his loan underway better with him admitting that he felt more ‘settled’, and quickly, at St Andrews, but realises that Albion are more geared towards the Premier League and set up to be one next season all being well.

Extra pressure could be coming his way due to this but with him likely to move back out to the left on Saturday this should benefit him, and hopefully us, more.
