Summer signing Florin Andone made his long-awaited comeback from injury in Friday’s Under 23 tie with West Ham United.

The plan had been to get him some minutes in the match with him then maybe getting a second run out in tonight’s Premier League clash against Southampton so the 25-year-old could finally make his maiden Brighton and Hove Albion bow.

He got 45 minutes in our 2-1 victory and looked pretty bright and fans were certainly impressed with the initial efforts they saw from him, knowing that he should only get better as his fitness and sharpness builds and he gets more settled at the club.

All eyes to tonight’s tie against Mark Hughes’ side at St Mary’s Stadium then to see if he does, in fact, get himself a spot on the bench and make some kind of cameo in the game. The reactions from those who saw the Under 23 game certainly seem positive about the kind of player we have on our hands, so the sooner we see that the better as although no one is getting carried away after our summer strengthening, the quality of player we have brought in has raised expectations slightly.

  • wont get much chance in the first team,as Murray is playing so well, also doesnt help, when the manager admits,we play boring football,as its not about the style of play, but staying in the Premier league, which just goes to show, what ive thought for ages, its not about keeping the fans happy, its all about the money.I would rather play attacking football,in a lower league,at present we play with everyone behind the ball and if we get in front,we defend and try and protect our led,so its boring, the manager stated he was delighted with only losing 1-0 to Liverpool, shows what hes like, boring,i would have been delighted if we had attacked and tried to win the match,i know what to expect from Brighton and its boring, although i love to see the good players, from the opposition, last year,HAZARD from Chelsea, was brilliant as was Courtinio, before he moved to Barcelona, another player who impressed me,was WILTSHIRE,couldnt believe Arsenal, let him go on a free.

    • After all the talk was surprised he didn’t take a spot on the bench, hope it doesn’t imply another issue. Prem is all about the cash though sadly.
