Solly March’s long-term future with Brighton has been secured with him signing a new four-year deal last week, he’s now close to his first-team playing return after a serious knee injury.

He was due to feature in Brighton’s EFL Trophy match with Stevenage last week but fresh from signing this deal it was decided not to take any risks with the England U21 international with a ‘tough training session’ something Chris Hughton preferred.

The upcoming U23 match with Blackburn is bow being targeted as his return with the Brighton boss awaiting this and his competitive return after nine-months on the sidelines with him in the best form Hughton had seen him prior to his knee problem.

Hughton told the Argus.

‘I`m delighted because, before the injury last year, Solly was playing as well as I`ve ever seen him. He trained on Tuesday, when it was a really hard session, and there was no reaction afterwards, which is great. Hopefully he goes from strength to strength now and plays the next game.’
