The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Southend United this Tuesday.

Brighton’s Under 23 side travel to Southend United on Tuesday August 30 for the Football League Trophy/Checkatrade Trophy tie at Roots Hall and the match carries a 7.45pm kick off.

Referee: Darren Deadman
Linesmen: Steve Finch and Carl Fitch-Jackson
Fourth Official: Chris O’Donnell

Brighton are one of the 16 Category One Academy sides taking part in the competition this season on a trial basis.

Match Day referee Deadman has officiated two games in 2016/17 with a return of four yellow cards and zero red cards.

He took charge of 36 matches in 2015/16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 101 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Cardiff City and Leeds United on March 8 with a total of six yellows shown and one red.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
