Brighton and Hove Albion made the trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford in our opening Premier League match of the 2018/19 campaign.
Manager Chris Hughton didn’t make too many changes to the expected starting eleven despite our pre-season transfer business with only Bernardo coming in for his debut, but Yves Bissouma, Leon Balogun and Alireza Jahanbakhsk took their places on the substitutes bench.
A brace from Roberto Pereyra made it a disappointing day for the travelling Seagulls as we had no reply in a 2-0 defeat, but Bissouma and Jahanbakhsh did come on for substitute debuts as they continue their adjustment having arrived at the club over the summer.
It wasn’t how anybody had wanted to open the year but it’s only one game and it won’t decide our season, we just have to hope our newbies click sooner rather than later in what was a pretty comfortable victory for the hosts.
The main concern was not a single shot registered on target looking at the stats.
Dust ourselves down and go again!
