Manager Chris Hughton and Brighton have today confirmed that they have appealed the red card shown to Jamie Murphy in the two all draw with Bolton Wanderers at the weekend.

Murphy picked up a three game ban with the red card at the weekend, which would’ve seen him out of contention until October 24, and the club have today sought to have that overturned.

If successful he will be eligible to face Cardiff City, Leeds United and Bristol City.

With Hughton already making his thoughts clear about the unfair and harsh red shown to the player as he lost his footing before colliding with Bolton’s Neil Danns, he remains confident we will get the card and punishment overturned.
