Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Glenn Murray in the two nil victory over Barnsley at the weekend at the Amex Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Murray was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The two-goal pattern continues, with Murray bagging a brace for Brighton against Barnsley. A clinical Seagulls break was finished off by the striker early on, and the 33-year-old headed a second early in the second half to give Chris Hughton’s men a third straight Sky Bet Championship win.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Murray for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Stuart Nelson (Gillingham), Paul McShane (Reading), Luke Croll (Exeter City), Aden Flint (Bristol City), Ryan Colclough (MK Dons), Gary Roberts (Portsmouth), Kieran Lee (Sheffield Wednesday), Cameron McGeehan (Luton Town), Joao Teixeira (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Glenn Murray (Brighton), Rickie Lambert (Cardiff City).

Manager – Keith Hill (Rochdale).
