With defeat to Leeds United last weekend in the final game ahead of the March international break, striker Glenn Murray admitted Brighton now go into the lull period disappointed as everyone wants another game quickly to put it right, but it does give us chance to rest up and put in the work necessary to try and make it six points from an available six when we host Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City in a couple of weeks.

Speaking to the Official Site Murray explained that all he and the team could do now was focus fully on the next two matches in April.

‘The really disappointing thing for us is that we`ve got a two-week break on the back of a defeat. It`s one of those games where you want to put it right straight away and it would be good to have a Tuesday night game now. But we`ve got to rest and recuperate ahead of the final run-in, going into two big games at the Amex.’

Murray went on to say.

‘No game is a given at this stage of the season. Lots of teams have got something to play for and even the ones that haven`t got anything to play for may play better with less pressure. There are all sorts of ways to look at it, but we`ve got to be at it 100 per cent if we`re going to pick up two victories. We`re still as hungry as ever and our aim is to still try and get into that top two.’

With Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town also losing points at the weekend, the defeat could certainly have been worse for Brighton, but that in itself gives Murray confident because he knows some games always go against you yet we remain in second place and well placed for automatic promotion.

‘Maybe it wasn`t our afternoon, but we take heart from the results around us. It`s one less game and we`re in the same position. That`s where the more experienced players come in and especially the gaffer, to remind us of that. That`s what it`s all about and it`ll be like that until the very end.’
