Could Glenn Murray be set for a spell on the sidelines after limping off against Tranmere?
GLENN MURRAY could be an injury doubt for the South Coast derby on Saturday. Murray limped off after 79 minutes after hyper extending his knee whilst playing against Tranmere Rovers.
Murray who is out of the contract at the end of the season, has been a vital part of Poyet’s squad, scored his third goal of the season with an audacious volley from 25 yards. He has also worked tirelessly upfront, and become important at the back defending set pieces and corners.
Should he not recover in time for the Bournemouth clash in front of the sky cameras, striking options seem a little short. Ashley Barnes and Fran Sandaza are yet to fully convince the Albion faithful, so Poyet could call upon untested summer signings Ryan Simmonds or Torbjorn Agdestein.
Cristian Baz who has been impressive during training could be asked to fill in, or Gary Hart may also have a part to play despite not scoring since October 2006.
Should Murray’s injury become more serious than first expected, the loan window is open and could pave the way for another new signing.
