Following the brilliant August Brighton had, which saw Chris Hughton and Kazenga LuaLua named as the Manager and Player of the Month, respectively, it could be easy to get ‘carried away’ not just with the start but the thoughts Albion should look to consolidate this with further moves into the transfer market!

Which, from tomorrow onwards, technically Albion can as the loan market does reopen for Football League clubs.

Brighton have seen some reports linking them with loan moves but Hughton isn’t planning anything in the loan market for the time being, certainly not ahead of the meeting with Hull on Saturday.

The Albion boss, who isn’t ruling out utilising this market entirely, feels he’s done his business but if, which we’ll hope isn’t going to happen, injuries do hit the Seagulls squad he might have a rethink!

Asked about his plans, and if he would make any loan moves, Hughton’s been quoted by the Argus as saying.

‘Not at this moment.

‘You can never legislate for any injuries you might get but I think we have covered all areas over the summer.’

Hughton’s moved wisely, throughout the summer, in the transfer market and has some good options to call upon, which is leaving him with some ‘big decisions’ to make ahead of the meeting with Hull!

Included among them are decisions on bringing Lewis Dunk and Jamie Murphy back into the starting XI or not, he added.

‘I always have a big decision to make because every game is a different game. Every team I pick, you want it to be a tough call. The tougher the decisions, the more competitive the squad is – and we have that at the moment.’

Options, and genuinely good options at that, for Hughton to have is something we’ve got to be delighted with!

How we react following the break for the internationals will be interesting as the momentum was stopped somewhat wasn’t it….
