The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Oxford United and Brighton’s Under 23s this Tuesday in the EFL Trophy.

Brighton travel to Oxford United on Tuesday October 3 for the EFL Trophy tie at the Kassam Stadium and the match carries a 7.45pm kick off.

Referee: Dean Whitestone
Assistant Refs: Kevin Morris and Paul Yates
Fourth Official: Aji Ajibola

Match Day referee Whitestone has officiated eleven games in 2017/18, showing 28 yellow cards and one red card so far.

He took in 43 games in 2016/17 with a return of 119 yellow cards and three red cards.

He took charge of 39 matches in 2015/16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 119 yellow cards and two red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Bristol Rovers and Mansfield in March, with eight yellows being shown. Prior to that Colchester and Scunthorpe in August saw seven yellows being shown and he also showed seven in the game between Middlesbrough and Blackburn in February.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
