Striker Chris O’Grady has today secured himself a season long loan spell out with Nottingham Forest.

Having joined us last summer for a reported £2million under then manager Sami Hyypia, he went on to make 33 appearances for us in 2014-15, giving a goal return of three strikes.

He did however spend a month with Sheffield United, where he played four times scoring once, and his three goals for us came following his return ahead of the new year.

Having made five appearances so far this season for Chris Hughton, it was known he was down the pecking order and a loan or permanent move did seem on the cards.

Speaking to the Official Site to explain the move, the gaffer explained that a season long loan deal was in everybody’s best interests.

‘We haven’t been able to give Chris the amount of opportunities in the Championship that he will get at Nottingham Forest. He is a great professional, and has been good to work with since I came here in January. On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to wish Chris well at Forest, for the season ahead.’

The 29 year old remains contracted to us until the end of next season, and as per the terms of the loan move he won’t be eligible to play against us when we make the trip to the City Ground early next April.
