Brighton’s desire to bring in new recruits, if possible, isn’t anything new.

The Argus reports today though that Oscars priority has become a ‘goalscoring back up’ for Leo Ulloa who continues to be our main source of goals, arguably the only source, but is also continuing to be troubled by an ankle problem.

A new arrival can help ease the pressure on him.

Andrea Orlandi, one of those that will miss the FA cup fifth round replay with Hull tonight due to injury, knows the importance of easing the pressure on Leo and also told the Argus that he knows it’s time for the midfielders to start chipping in and takes positives from the chances that the midfielders are getting.

‘We just need to relax. We are playing well, we are creating chances and then we don’t have to rely on Leo to score.

‘We have to take more responsibility, the rest of the players, and start scoring more goals.

‘For example, Dale had two really good chances. He was in two good positions. Some other players had chances.

‘At least we had many chances and players in the right areas. Let’s see if we can add some goals from midfield or other areas and help Leo.’

We’ve got some cracking strikers waiting in the wings, the problem is Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins are still sidelined by injury and we need someone to ease the burden on Leo now and if a short term loan can be secured it gives them more time to recover and helps our main source of goals.
