Brighton have today turned on loan Bournemouth striker Glenn Murray’s deal into a permanent one.

The experienced forward has bagged 15 goals in 28 appearances for the side so far this season having come in on loan at the beginning of the campaign and he now joins for an undisclosed fee on a deal until the summer of 2019.

Murray’s impact on our battle at the top of the Championship table has been clear for all to see, and speaking to the Official Site manager Chris Hughton was delighted to capture him permanently now as it had always been the plan.

‘Glenn has made a big contribution in the first half of the season, not only in terms of his goals, but as a senior member of the squad. He has done exactly what we had hoped he would do when we took him on loan from Bournemouth in the summer, and has been a crucial part of our team and squad so far this season. I am delighted that he wants to commit his long-term future to the club.’

The 33 year old is obviously in second spell at Brighton and 56 goals first time round and 15 so far second time round he could now prove more than key to our Premier League promotion hopes this year.
