Brighton manager, Gus Poyet has been named NPower Manager of the Month for March 2011. Casper Ankergren also won player of the month.

This is the second time this has happened this season, with both Poyet and Ankergren taking the respective awards in September 2010.

They have both been rewarded for a perfect month which saw The Seagulls play 8 games winning, all 8, cementing their place at the summit of League One.

Ankergren played his part in 6 clean sheets including a run of almost 400 minutes without conceding a goal, which was vital as The Albion failed to hit top gear in a tiring month.

Poyet had been hoping for 15 points during March, managed his way to 24 points with 8 wins from 8. This was enough to earn him the accolade ahead of Peterborough’s Darren Ferguson.

Malky Mackay of Watford took the Championship award, whilst managerial novice, Dean Holdsworth took the League Two title for his great month in charge of Aldershot Town.
