Alex Pritchard looked to be on his way to Brighton until Norwich made a move for the Tottenham midfielder, also being linked with Burnley and QPR. Gordon Greer’s staying in the Championship this season as he’s signed for Blackburn following his Albion release.

The (apparent) loss of Pritchard to Norwich, who themselves could still face a battle to sign the 23-year-old even though Sky Sports has reported a medical with the Canaries as he’s gaining interest, was a disappointment for Brighton as a club record deal seemed on.

An £8m transfer fee was suggested with Pritchard ‘on the brink’ of coming to Brighton from Spurs, having also agreed personal terms, until the approach from Norwich having also spoken with QPR last week.

If Albion do miss out on the midfielder we’ve not brought in a bad one in the shape of Oliver Norwood anyway have we!

Championship rivals Blackburn have also signed a good player with our former captain confirmed as a Rovers signing a one-year deal following his exit from the Amex Stadium at the end of his Brighton contract.

Greer will take his years of experience with him to Ewood Park with the tough decision to release the 35-year-old made by Chris Hughton this summer after 234-matches in his six seasons with Brighton. He’ll get a great reception when he returns to the Amex, as he will when Albion go to Ewood.
