Promising Arsenal Youngster Heads To Brighton As One For The Future

|

Monday evening saw Brighton and Hove Albion announce the signing of former Arsenal goalkeeper Hugo Keto.

The 20-year-old moves to the Amex Training Centre on a two-year deal following the expiry of his former contract and he joins our Under 23 setup as a free agent.

He made the move to Arsenal back in 2014 from Finnish side HJK Helsinki and went straight into their Under 18 setup, and he’s classed as an athletic shot-stopper. Arguably his finest moment in London came in the 2015/16 FA Youth Cup where he made a hat-trick if penalty saves in their quarter-final victory over Coventry City.

He’s also represented his country at youth team level, and now has three caps to his name for the Finland Under 21 side.

Under 23 coach Simon Rusk welcomed the player to Brighton and knowing he arrives with a good grounding from the Arsenal academy, he explained he was looking forward to working with him closely to see what kind of competition he can add to our youth goalkeeping unit and then his subsequent development.

With a number of fans thinking the announcement was about the long speculated Percy Tau, plenty of others were quick to welcome him to the club.
