Reports are surfacing Brighton are keen on Sam Morsy with it also said Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri could come to Albion if Chris Hughton has his way before the transfer window closes with the Southend Echo claiming Glen Rea has joined Southend on loan?

The Argus, earlier today, was linking the Irish youngster to the League 1 side with Southend boss Phil Brown saying Dea has joined the Shrimpers!

Hughton’s been tight lipped on Chesterfield’s Morsy, he wasn’t giving much away with this….

Back to Rea though first, one we’ve got very high hopes for in the future and he’s impressed in the League Cup, which had caught Southend boss Brown’s eye when he watched him in Brighton’s midweek defeat at Walsall.

The Southend Echo reports he’s agreed a loan deal until January, which hasn’t been confirmed our end yet but Brown said.

‘It’s great news that we`ve got this deal completed now.

‘We`ve witnessed him first hand in the Capital One Cup and we watched him again against Walsall too.

‘He did a great job against Bradshaw which is testament to where he`s at and fingers crossed he will be ready to start at Coventry on Monday night.’

Rea’s a good prospect and half a season, at least, at Roots Hall getting regular first-team football will do him good with this a good move….as long as he does play regularly, which the 20-year-old should as he’s more than good enough for that level!

One currently playing at that level is Morsy, however the Chesterfield captain is strongly expected to join a Championship side with the Sun offering up the initial reports Brighton had ‘shown an interest’ and would ‘make a move in the coming days.’

At £1m, the 23-year-old midfielder would be a snip, if Albion do want him and we can get him to the Amex Stadium ahead of MK Dons and Cardiff, who also apparently want him?

Do we also want Boca Juniors striker Calleri?

According to an Argentine TV presenter on Cronica TV, Hector Heredia, we do with him Tweeting.

‘Today there was a meeting between directors of Brighton and Boca, who asked for 13 million dollars for the goalscorer. The English offered nine.

‘In the meeting on the Boca side was Juan Simon (general manager). 11 million would probably be enough.’

The Argus, which carried his quotes also carried a report with it their understanding ‘the figures quoted by Heredia are wide of the mark.’

We could be interested, and we know Hughton wants more, but ‘no agreement has been reached’ for the 21-year-old with him also said to be interesting Premier League side Stoke?
