With Brighton and Hove Albion’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the weekend, summer signing Yves Bissouma continues to impress fans as he more gets to grips with the Premier League level and starts to slowly show what he’s really capable of.

Newcastle was the 22-year-old’s ninth showing of the 2018/19 season following his arrival from French side Lille for a reported £15million, but it was only his fourth top-flight start.
It’s fair to say Bissouma wasn’t overly in the game when he came on as he’s credited with only six passes across the 10, but the effort was there even if the statistics quite weren’t in his short performance, but he could’ve, and many will say should’ve, opened his scoring account and doubled our advantage as the game came to a close – but it’s still an adjustment period for him and he’s ticking the right boxes.

Clearly, there’s more to come from the lad and we probably won’t see his complete best until next season as it often works out that way.
