Gus Poyet is pondering a move for Argentinean playmaker, Emmanuel Jorge Ledesma.

Poyet has taken the 22 year old on trail, after he returned to his parent club, Genoa after a loan spell with Serie B team, FC Crotone. Ledesma impressed reserve team coach, Luke Williams during a run out against Wycombe.

The Argentine scored 16 minutes into his first appearance for the reserves, equalising after going 1-0 down to a penalty. Williams said that Ledesma was the stand out performer on the night.

He impressed for Queens Park Rangers during a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers, scoring a hat trick against Carlisle in the cup and putting in a series of eye catching performances.

He quickly became a cult hero at Loftus Road, with the club even producing a ‘Ledesma’ T shirt, with the an image of his trade mark goal celebration on the front.

Ledesma, who hails from Quilmes in Argentina, would become the 4th Argentinean in the Brighton playing squad, joining Mauricio Tarrico, Cristian Baz and Augustin Battipiedi.

His signing may also go a little way to replacing the transfer listed winger, Elliott Bennett, should he leave before the transfer window closes.
