Reported Brighton transfer target, at least as far as ‘unconfirmed reports’ suggest, Jamie Murphy isn’t someone that new Sheffield United manager Nigel Adkins is looking to lose.

It’s been claimed that Chris Hughton was keen and a £1m offer had been made for the Scottish international, this was a good week or so ago and nothing more has come of this as yet.

Atkins has made his views clear though stating that a player of his ability, and importance, to the League 1 side will attract attention but he’s not looking to sell the winger.

I’ve been very impressed with Murphy, not just with the statistical evidence of what he can offer the actual evidence from seeing him in action for Sheffield United, so if we can bring the 25-year-old to the Amex Stadium this summer I’d be more than happy.

Sheffield United don’t want to sell, and more importantly don’t have to sell, so unless Murphy wants to leave Bramall Lane this could be a non-starter anyway….
