Brighton skipper Bruno has described the penalty award in the game against Everton as being ‘soft’.

Having taken the lead at the Amex Stadium through Anthony Knockaert, Bruno conceded the penalty that led to Wayne Rooney’s 90th minute leveller and speaking to West Sussex Today as he met with the media following the game, Bruno felt it was a soft decision by the referee that robbed us of the extra two points.

‘To get a point against Everton is always good but being 1-0 up with five minutes to go is quite disappointing, especially with the penalty.’

He added about the incident, that although he hadn’t yet seen the decision back, his gut instinct told him it was harsh.

‘I would say it wasn’t a penalty but I haven’t seen it again. I was trying to protect myself and the space, I don’t know. I’m not going to speak about the ref, he was trying to do his best but it was really soft. There were a lot of challenges during the game and that one was really soft, It was his decision and that’s it.’

With Shane Duffy going off injured in the game after he felt a ‘pop’ in his groin in the second half, the Argus have him saying that with a scan booked for Monday, he was confident it wasn’t anything too serious.

‘I`m all right, a bit sore at the minute. I`ll get scanned in the morning and see how it is but it feels not too bad.’

He added.

‘It was my groin. I was running back and I just felt it but hopefully I am not too bad. It was like a pop or a shot feeling but it has calmed down now. I`ve iced it and had treatment and it feels a little bit better but I`ll see tomorrow.’
