It has been confirmed that Secretary of State Ruth Kelly will deliver her verdict on the Falmer Stadium debate before or on the 9th July this year.

It appears that we are on the final straight of the long running Falmer saga. Although there is a very long way to go yet.

Lewes District Council have continued to fight the original stadium approval – previously made by John Prescott in 2005. They have made their final submissions to the Secretary of State with their main argument being for Brighton to re-look at Sheepcote Valley as a viable site.

Although it is well known that the lack of transport around the area would lead to a total gridlock of the surrounding areas of Brighton & Hove.

We are vastly approaching the 10th anniversary of us being without our own permanent home. Although it is hardly something to celebrate is it.

The club have done tremendously well just to survive financially and i’m sure we will all back the Albion whatever the final decision may be.
