Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the midweek that has been selected after the recent action.

The performance by Dale Stephens in the four nil victory over Leeds United in midweek at the Amex Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Stephens was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Brighton delivered a stunning first-half display against Leeds United on Monday night, hitting four goals without response. Stephens played a part in two of the goals as the Seagulls closed the gap on the Sky Bet Championship’s automatic promotion places.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Stephens for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the win.

Full Team:

Scott Loach (Notts County), Josh Coulson (Cambridge United), Nathaniel Knight-Percival (Shrewsbury Town), Chey Dunkley (Oxford United), Conor Hourihane (Barnsley), Darren Ambrose (Colchester United), Dale Stephens (Brighton), Luke Gambin (Barnet), Jonathan Obika (Swindon Town), Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers), Wes Burns (Fleetwood Town).

Manager – Darren Way (Yeovil Town).
