Brighton needed to beat Blackburn on Tuesday, in the end we had to settle for a point with Dale Stephens heading home a late equaliser at Ewood Park.

Stephens knows all too well that we’ve had poor results recently but our play off rivals have also ‘slipped up’ with him telling BBC Sussex that we’ll keep fighting until the end of the season and not give up on making the play offs until it’s mathematically impossible.

‘We had a poor three results but Reading, Wigan and Nottingham Forest have slipped up as well.

‘We have got good characters and leaders on the pitch. We are going to fight until the end.

‘We can only look after ourselves and we are confident going into the remaining games. It’s not over until it’s mathematically over.’

One point from the last 12 points on offer isn’t promotion form and this has to improve dramatically, starting this weekend against Barnsley.

Maybe at the end of the season Stephens first goal for us will prove to make the difference, which is something that he certainly hopes will be the case with him delighted to open his account for Albion.

Now we’ve found the net again we need to keep doing this and get back to our best defensively too.
