Burnley back for Stephens, West Brom left back incoming and former Arsenal striker Bendtner a target as well?

It was being reported yesterday that Burnley’s interest in midfielder Dale Stephens had led them to make a fifth bid for the Brighton player.

The fee this time was reported by The Argus as being in excess of £7million, and followed quickly on from their fourth bid being rejected the other day.

Brighton have reportedly told Burnley not to come back with a sixth offer on deadline day as we have no intention of selling the player, despite him being out of contract next summer.

In other news it’s being reported that we are lining up a loan move for West Bromwich Albion’s Belgian left back Sebastian Pocognoli.

The 29 year old has long fallen out of favour at West Brom under Tony Pulis who hs chosen to play centre halves in the full back positions during his time in charge. Although the deal will be a season long loan agreement, it’s being suggested we can turn it permanent in either January or next summer.

Finally The Daily Mail have us linked with a deadline day move for out of contract Nicklas Bendtner.

The former Arsenal player is without a club following the termination of his deal with Wolfsburg and he apparently wants a return to the Premier League – but with Brighton’s hopes of promotion this term, they say he hasn’t ruled out one season in the Championship and that could be either with us or Norwich City.

Of course, being out of contract, the 28 year old does not have to agree a deal before the transfer window shuts so this could rumble on as Queens Park Rangers have also been linked with him.
