Steve Sidwell is being linked with a move to Brighton with Sky Sports reporting an approach has been made for him by Albion, who will have competition from former club Fulham for the Stoke man?

Sidwell was in attendance at the weekend when Brighton beat Huddersfield to move back up to third place in the Championship but his attendance was said to be with him a ‘guest’ of Bobby Zamora, who played alongside him for a spell at Fulham, only but Zamora himself has since said he would be ‘a great signing’ should Chris Hughton want this and manage to secure him.

The 33-year-old has proven experience and quality and could prove to be a good addition to the Albion squad but you wonder if another midfielder is the priority but Hughton will know best and if it is he’ll look to do a deal, if possible!

I’d question how much interest Fulham really do have though?

The Sky sources have claimed ‘bids’ have been made to sign him but seen as Fulham are under a transfer embargo they couldn’t ‘bid’ for him anyway could they! Stoke, as the report went onto add, are prepared to let him leave as he’s made only four appearances this season with his last coming in the Premier League in August.
