Brighton and Hove Albion certainly created plenty of headlines as we took a deserved 3-2 victory over Manchester United last weekend to open up our tally in the Premier League of 2018/19.
First-half goals from Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross gave us the unexpected win as we proved lightning can strike Jose Mourinho twice, and in amongst the fan out there were some reactions from Scotland that will delight plenty of Seagulls fans.
Celtic were of course linked with a move for Shane Duffy previously but Chris Hughton snared him into a move to us, and with him stepping up and performing as we lost Lewis Dunk to injury in the game, our gain was definitely their loss as some took to social media to moan about what they had missed out on.
Mind we were linked ????????????

I wouldn’t take Lindelof or Bailly in the Celtic defence and that’s saying something. And it’s the Celtic Duffy. Well done big man.

It’s not often I’ll pay attention to what other fans are saying, but when a third party view is so strong and in agreement, it really should say everything about Duffy’s performance at the weekend and put it firmly into focus for those who didn’t have the pleasure of seeing the match live.
If Dunk is out for any length of time, and I’m not alone in having my fingers crossed there, Duffy is extremely well placed to step up in his absence and grow his stock even further as if some didn’t have him on their watch lists, they certainly should do after that performance.
If he can maintain it then and go to a new level then it’s win, win.
