Both Brighton and Huddersfield Town were officially welcomed to the Premier League yesterday at the PL’s AGM.

The Annual General Meeting marked the change from the 2016/17 campaign to the 2017/18 campaign and for both clubs it was a significant day as both could then officially call themselves top flight teams.

With Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland handing back their Premier League share certificates – the document that grants Premier League status – Brighton and Huddersfield received their framed ‘shares’ for the coming campaign and with that induction and all the official nonsense out of the way, it means that simple things like the club crests are now on the Premier League website and we go into the official Premier League table even though were a good few weeks off kick off.

It might be important to some but it also means the Premier League’s official twitter account will now ‘follow’ the two new members.

All eyes to next Wednesday (June 14) for the fixtures now.
