New Chelsea loan signing Fikayo Tomori has said that positive words from team mate Tammy Abraham about Brighton helped secure his switch this month.

The 20 year old defender sought advice from his fellow Academy colleague as he faced off against us earlier in the season in the game against Bristol City and apparently Abraham had nothing but praise for us.

Speaking to the Official Site after completing his move to the Amex Stadium until the end of the season, he explained.

‘I know a couple of players in the Championship that have played against Brighton, and they said they`re a really good team and really hard to play against. I`ve watched a couple of their games in the Championship, including the Sheffield Wednesday game recently. There were a few whispers about a possible move at the time, and to be here and involved now is great.’

He added.

‘Everyone knows that Tammy and I are close and he said that Brighton are a top team and every time you play against Brighton, it`s a hard game. I`m not here to score 18 goals like he has, but to keep them out! I want to play as much as I can, improve as much as I can and help the team. That`s the main thing.’

Another pull for his loan move to us was obviously our battle at the top of the Championship tree with Newcastle United for promotion to the Premier League for next season and that’s certainly an achievement he’d welcome on his career information sheet.

‘It`s really exciting. You want to be playing for a top club and Brighton is a top club to be at. Obviously they`re near the top of the Championship and hopefully we can finish top of the Championship and win promotion to the Premier League. Chelsea have been nothing but supportive and I just want me to express myself, do the best I can and try to help the team and myself as much as possible.’
