TV Companies Give Brighton A Helping Hand With Summer Transfer Plans

|

With Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton pushing the boat out it seems this summer with some of our captures and speculated targets, building on the likes of Jose Izquierdo and Pascal Gross to name just two from last season, Sky Sports and BT Sport have done us a small favour when it comes to helping to balance the books.

Across August and September, we will have a national audience on four occasions.

The much anticipated first home game of the 2018/19 Premier League season that sees Manchester United roll up at the Amex Stadium has been selected by Sky for coverage. That game now moves to Sunday, August 19th and will carry a new kick-off time of 4pm.

The next match selected is the away match at Anfield. This one has been picked by BT Sport and will continue to take place on the same day, Saturday, August 25th, but the kick-off slot goes to the later time of 5.30pm.

Sky Sports have also selected the South Coast derby against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium for a wider viewing audience, and that game now makes the shift to Monday, September 17th with an 8pm kick-off time.

Finally, our Amex hosting of Tottenham Hotspur has been selected by BT Sport and that too will continue to take place on the original date, Saturday, September 22nd, but will also kick-off at 5.30pm.

With cold hard cash on offer for each game screened, especially as the host club, this shouldn’t be sniffed at even though some fans will no doubt be inconvenienced by it.
