Adrian Colunga always seemed destined to leave Brighton, with it pretty obvious he wasn’t in Chris Hughton’s first-team plans but for him to leave now, which leaves him in limbo until January is strange?

I can’t quite understand this? Why not have agreed this exit in the summer!

He’s told the Argus he wasn’t happy with the way his exit, at this time, came about and feels both his agent and the club could have ‘done this better.’

Colunga’s time at the Amex Stadium might have ended on Wednesday, with him now free to find a new club, but he’ll have to wait until January to do this even though he’s now officially a free agent.

The Spanish forward says he’s been left as ‘the biggest loser’ due to the curious timing of his exit.

‘The biggest loser in all this was me. I’ve now got to wait until January before I can join a club.

‘I’m not happy with how things worked out. I wish the club and my agents had done this better.’

He’s been left confused by the way his time with Brighton ended, as he was the fact that Hughton, despite praising his ability, never really gave him a chance. Was he good enough to get into this Albion team?

This is something he added he felt he was capable of.

‘Chris Hughton always said I was a good player and trained well so anybody would ask why I didn’t play.

‘My position is incomprehensible really.

‘I don’t know what I can do. I believe I could have played for this team and I was perfectly capable of starting for this team.’

Interest is, as it always has been, being shown in him in Spain but he doesn’t know where his next move will be.

But he says he’ll ‘re-invent’ himself and hopes, with him feeling ‘phenomenally good physically’, to find a new club as soon as possible so he can start training with them instantly, even if he can’t sign for them until January.
