Brighton secured a 2-1 win over Birmingham in the Championship on Saturday.

Glenn Murray’s goal deep into injury-time saw Brighton complete a late comeback to win at Birmingham – keeping us comfortably in 2nd and just a point behind leaders Newcastle.

Birmingham had gone ahead early in the second half when Lukas Jutkiewicz headed home.

However, Anthony Knockaert looked as though he had rescued a point for Brighton when he volleyed home on 82 minutes – this point turned into all three when Murray headed home his eighth goal in as many games to dramatically win it for Albion in added time.

Chris Hughton was delighted with the momentum that saw Brighton through to this dramatic winner.

Speaking in his post-match conference the Albion boss was quoted by the BBC as saying.

‘Credit to my players. Sometimes when you are winning 1-0 and the opposition come back to 1-1 you see the game out. But there was real momentum on the part of my players to get the winner. It was a really tough game. I thought Birmingham were good in periods but we were not at our best as it was a game of minimal chances. We have quality and a great spirit in the team and we continually tell what it takes to win away from home.’
