Brighton secured a 3-2 win over Blackburn in the Championship on Tuesday.

Gordon Greer’s reunion with Brighton wasn’t a happy one as the former Albion captain was sent off in our win at Blackburn. This took us back to the top of the Championship but Newcastle could reclaim this with a win tonight.

The return to Blackburn of our own defender Shane Duffy was a happier one though. He headed Brighton ahead on 16 minutes from an Oliver Norwood corner – this was the Irishman’s fourth goal against Rovers this season. However, three were own goals before he arrived at Albion!

Brighton added a second on 61 minutes when Dale Stephens volleyed in but Blackburn pulled a goal back through Sam Gallagher five minutes later.

Greer was shown his second yellow card before Glenn Murray came off the bench to score the third. His first away goal of the season came after Blackburn keeper Jason Steele failed to hold Lewis Dunk’s effort.

The home side did pull a goal back in the 94th minute but Gallagher’s second was too late as Brighton extended an unbeaten run to 15 games.
