Brighton were beaten by Preston in the Championship on Saturday.
After a first defeat in 10 the lead was lost by Brighton to Newcastle when they won.
This 2-0 loss – a first defeat since September – at Preston saw us drop down to 2nd but Albion do have a game in hand. Whereas North End’s win took them into the top 10 with them now six points off the top 6.
