Brighton’s Championship season continued with a draw at the Amex Stadium against Preston on Saturday.

An unbeaten run was maintained but a blank, for only the second time this season, meant Brighton had to be content with a point against Preston in this nil-nil draw as Albion failed to capitalise on some other favourable results below them.

Chances were few and far between with the better of them, and they really were lacking, coming in the opening 45-minutes.

Baldock, looking to follow up a goal in the win over his former club Bristol City in midweek, had one effort for Brighton blocked with the only other real chance being a Murphy, back from a recently suspension, freekick that Preston ‘keeper Pickford dealt with.

Preston’s best chance saw Doyle have his header saved by Stockdale.

Fewer chances came in the second half with the introduction of Zamora, who had scored late winners in each of the last two-matches, but he couldn’t complete a hat-trick of such achievements as his scoring run from the bench came to an end.

In fact Preston had the best chance after the break but Garner’s header was cleared off the line.

Hemed was also unable to take a chance he had for Brighton with Albion ending with only 10-men as Bong was forced off with an injury late on, however with all the changes made Hughton couldn’t replace him.

A frustrating point, on an uneventful day really, was a bit disappointing as Preston extended a run against Brighton to nine-matches with just the one defeat. But Albion do keep the only unbeaten side in the top four leagues though and the four-point lead was kept.
