Brighton’s unbeaten start to the Championship season continued with a win at Portman Road against Ipswich on Saturday.

A two-goal lead, given to Brighton by LuaLua and Hemed early on had Albion in control but Sears and McGoldrick got Ipswich level at two-two but Hemed came up with the winner to move the Seagulls to the top of the Championship table, ahead of the Tractors Boys who had started the day that way!

Showing respect to the Matt Grimstone and Jacob Schilt, just two victims of the Shoreham air crash last weekend, black armbands were worn by Brighton with Albion ‘ keeper Stockdale wearing a special warm-up shirt along with personalised gloves during the game, marked them in the best possible way with a win….

The battle of the unbeaten sides saw Brighton off to a flyer with LuaLua (10) onto a Bong ball to beat Gerken early on and just two-minutes later Hemed (12) touched in Stephens’ freekick.

Ipswich threatened through Sears, on more than one occasion, before Stephens almost made sure of the points but his effort hit the post!

Pitman also hit the post for Ipswich with Sears (54) able to tap in to get one back for Ipswich, with the Tractor boys given the chance to draw level when Bruno fouled Fraser. McGoldrick (65) did this to make it two-all.
