Brighton’s Championship season continued with a return to winning way at Elland Road against Leeds on Saturday.

March (14) got Brighton off to a good start with an early goal, finishing low into the net when played in by Kayal.

Leeds were soon level when Cooper (22) headed home a freekick though as Mowatt’s freekick was turned past Albion ‘keeper Stockdale at the midway point of the half, which is how the opening 45-minutes ended.

In the second half Leeds almost took the lead when an attempted Stockdale clearance was chased down by Mowatt with this hitting the post with the frame of the goal denying Brighton the lead again. March would have had his second if his effort hadn’t have hit the bar with Hemed also coming close to scoring but this was saved by Silvestri.

Summoned from the bench Zamora (89) grabbed the winner in the last minute when he chipped the ball past Leeds ‘keeper Silvestri in for his first goal for Albion since May 2002! This was scored with the home side down to 10-men as injury forced off Cooper, with all three subs having been made.

Not only was top spot retained with this win the unbeaten start to the season was also extended to 11-matches.
