The Premier League season got underway with the first round of games played over the weekend.

What a start to the season it was as Friday evening saw a seven goal thriller at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal completed a late comeback to see off Leicester 4-3 – that was followed up by Saturday’s early kick off when Watford and Liverpool played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Vicarage Road.

Champions Chelsea were stunned at Stamford Bridge as Burnley went away from London with a 3-2 victory.

In many ways another surprising result came at Selhurst Park as Frank De Boer’s first game in charge of Crystal Palace ended with his side thrashed 3-0 by Huddersfield, winning their first ever Premier League game to sit top of the tree at close of play on Saturday.

Wayne Rooney’s return to Goodison Park saw him mark his Premier League return for boyhood club Everton with the winning goal against Stoke.

The late kick off on Saturday saw Brighton’s topflight return, a first in the Premier League era, end in a 2-0 defeat against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side, strongly backed to challenge for the title.

Here’s a round-up of the Premier League results with some games yet to take place.
