The Argus is reporting, which they say is from a ‘South London source’, Jodi Jones is close to signing for Brighton.

Jones was linked with a move to Brighton in August but a deal wasn’t done but by all accounts the Dagenham winger is close to an agreement for him to join Albion.

The 18-year-old is one of those seen as ‘one for the future’ with Jones a regular in the Dagenham side this season but any deal wouldn’t be concluded until the January transfer window reopens and, this is merely me speculating here, it could be that he ends up returning to Victoria Road on loan?

First-team football will benefit his development, if he’s not considered one for the here and now such a scenario, if it does come off, could play out….however, he had to sign for Brighton before anything else!

As for Christian Walton, a loan exit is something Chris Hughton’s been keen on with the ‘keeper himself also keen on this following his brief spell with Bury earlier in the season, which was cut short by injury.

Walton himself said he was hopeful on a ‘League 1’ loan but if the Plymouth Herald is right he’ll return to the League 2 leaders, where he started his career having come through the youth set up at Home Park.

As Plymouth’s first choice Luke McCormick is out until January with a groin injury cover is needed so the 20-year-old making this move could be a worthwhile one.
