A bit of a whirlwind weekend in the life of Brighton and Hove Albion fans as we celebrated centre-half Lewis Dunk’s new extended contract at the club as well as his call-up into the England national side, but he wasn’t the only man celebrating a new deal at the weekend.
Republic of Ireland international centre-half Shane Duffy has also put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at the club and following his arrival from Blackburn Rovers back in the summer of 2016, he’s certainly impressed fans with his performance levels and he’s now a mainstay in the heart of defence alongside Dunky.
Taking to social media to comment on his new contract and Friday evening’s victory over West Ham United, he posted.
Great 3 points last night heading into big international week . Delighted to stay at this club to 2023 thanks for all the messages! Big 2 games coming up with ireland now 🇮🇪☘️ https://t.co/0t6AjwvYsB

As you can imagine the news went over incredibly well with Brighton fans, but also Republic ones as well as given his showings in the Premier League already plenty did have one eye on January as he must be gathering suitors.
So proud of you @shaneduffy ❤️????
