FA Cup Replay Preview

Brighton take on Cheltenham for the third time in 10 days tomorrow evening in the 1st Round replay of the FA Cup.

With the prospect of an away trip to Blue Square Premier side Torquay United for the winning side, both will be looking to put in ahigher quality performance than the original first round tie at Whaddon Road which saw Doug Loft score a late equaliser for the Seagulls.

The weather for tomorrow’s game could go either way. The downpours that have hit us on the South Coast today will continue throughout the day tomorrow but there is a good chance it will clear up by the evening. Lets hope it does and the attendance is a respectable one.

Vital Quotes:

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News:

Tommy Elphick is definitely ruled out of the tie with a hernia injury. He will now be tested and assessed to see how they will will treat the injury.

But Andrew Whing is back in the side after serving a one match suspension when we played Leyton Orient on Saturday.

With Elphick out and Whing likely to return to the line up, it looks likely Joel Lynch, Guy Butters and Adam El-Abd will battle for a starting place in central defence.

Player to watch: Dean Cox

Played very well on Saturday and is playing far more consistently so far this season.

Cheltenham Town Team News:

Cheltenham are without first teamers Ashley Vincent, Andy Lindegaard, John Finnigan and Michael Townsend through illness and injury. On loan Dean Sinclair has not been given permission by Charlton to play for the Robins.

Player to watch: Paul Connor

Looked lively when he came up against us in last weeks Paint Trophy game and managed to grab Cheltenham’s goal.

Match Prediction:

Brighton & Hove Albion 2 – 1 Cheltenham Town.

Next Fixture:

Saturday 24th November 2007: Carlisle (home)
