Two more goals from leading striker Nicky Forster ensured Brighton progressed through to the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.

The game itself was very even and although Brighton weren’t in control in the earlier stages of the game, Torquay failed to create too many opportunities, with Danny Stevens shot coming closest to opening the scoring.

Jake Robinson had two chances either side of half time to give us the lead, but his first attempt went wide and the second was well blocked by the Torquay defence.

But with less than 20 minutes gone in the 2nd half we were in the lead, when Nicky Forster netted his 10th goal of the season when Dean Cox’s cross found him unmarked in the box and he finished nicely with a header.

Torquay then took control of the game as they searched for an equaliser with Tim Sills and Lee Phillips both missing good opportunities.

But it wasn’t meant to be for them as in stoppage time Forster was played through on goal by Dean Cox and made no mistake in placing the ball into the bottom left corner and securing our place in the 3rd round hat on Sunday afternoon.
