Brighton defender Guy Butters is hoping the Seagulls can go all the way to the final in the Football League Trophy.

The 38 year old, who has been with the club for just over five years will relish the chance to play at the new stadium should the Seagulls reach the final of the Paint Trophy or even the play-off final if we continue to perform on the pitch in League One.

Butters told The Brighton Argus:

‘I think it is high up there, because there is a good chance of going to Wembley.

‘It was unfortunate last year that we came up against a really good Bristol City team. They are not in it this year, which leaves it a bit more open.

‘Playing at Wembley is the sort of thing which comes around once in a lifetime. I was quite fortunate, I played there a couple of times (for Gillingham in consecutive play-off finals).

‘It would be nice to go back there and see what the new one is like.’

Tickets for tomorrow night’s third round tie with Cheltenham have been slashed in a bid to get a large crowd at the game. Tickets for the FA Cup replay also with Cheltenham next Tuesday are also on sale and have been considerably reduced.
