Albion veteran Gary Hart has been thrown a lifeline by Dean Wilkins as he looks to secure his future with the club.

The striker made his first Albion appearance in a number of weeks last Saturday when he replaced Alex Revell up front.

Originally a forward, Hart has been used as a right midfielder and a right back in recent seasons but he is looking to return to his old position in order to gain more first team appearances.

Hart has rarely featured this year despite being a regular in the first team for the first half of the season. With his contract up in the summer, he will be anxious to prove his worth to the team.

Hart will partner former Billericay striker Nathan Elder up front in a reserve team game against Southampton this evening. The game will be played at Woodside Road in Worthing, kick off is 7pm.

Meanwhile, Zoumana Bakayogo looks set to also feature for the reserves tonight. The Frenchman, on loan from Millwall has been hit by injury since joining on a season long loan in January.
